Along Vltava river from Manesuv Bridge to Kampa park

Last weekend the weather turned out to be really beautiful and the city enjoyed many of outdoor events such as street theater, life music, and farmers’ markets. We took a walk along the river few times.

First we went from Palachovo namesti across the river towards Mala Strana. Right at the end of the Manesuv bridge on Mala Strana side we took left to the river. A small path leads to the water there with few benches and trees which provide a lovely resting and viewing spot of the passing boats and Charles Bridge. Many swans and ducks also come close to the shore there to be fed and often keep swimming nearby in case more food arrives. 🙂 From there it was a lovely walk via street U Luzickeho seminare to Charles Bridge and Kampa Park. If you would like to pick up an English or French book on the way then you can stop at Shakespeare and Sons bookstore which is located at U Luzickeho seminare 10 quite near the Charles Bridge.

Kampa Park is a great relaxing place with beautiful trees. Especially the Jasmin trees in bloom were amazing and their scent overwhelming at this time of year. The Museum Kampa – Sovovy Mlyny shows a collection of modern European art and a collection of Frantisek Kupka and Otto Gutfreund’s artwork.
