New Year Walk

On the first day of year 2013 I walked to the city centre to meet a friend for a nice New Year glass of wine. Slavia cafe was our second choice after Louvre cafe but crowds that came to watch the fireworks overtook Louvre cafe so we ended up in Slavia. Being situated next to the river and opposite the National theatre the views from the cafe are lovely. Even just watching the trams passing by can be a pleasant way how to spend some of the cold rainy winter  evening.

Walking back I took few pictures and here they are making a first post on this new blogging website. The plan is to keep taking pictures  of Prague through the whole year round either with my phone which is always at hand or with my digital SLR camera. Even more ambitious plan is to do and add drawings and paintings of the city. If that is managed by the end of year I will consider this little personal project a real success.

I hope the growing collection of pictures of this beautiful city will please many people who love the city much as I do and possibly it will refresh the image of the city for all Czech expats living abroad and for all ex-expats who used to live in Prague and miss it dearly. So enjoy!
